This is a great concept. At the Institut St Joseph de Quebec, students have cyberportfolios, a publication space that is described by Principal Mario Asselin as a “virtual extension of the classroom.” This space is composed of three sets of blogs: a classroom Web space, where announcements are displayed and work of common interested is posted; a public, personal communication zone, where students post the results of their work or reflection; and a private personal space, reserved for students’ thoughts and teacher guidance.
The initiative promotes authentic writing situations, reflective analysis, the development of learning communities, and a high level of independence among students in terms of new information and communication technology.
Brilliant!
